Please join me in welcoming the following new members to our climbing community. I was very impressed with these individuals and I think they will make great teammates to us all.
As someone who joined the club via Basic Equivalency I've stressed the importance of networking within the club to these guys. Would you please do me the favor of reaching out to them to say hello?
Stephen Wilson (wilson [underscore] sj [at] yahoo [dot] com) was first introduced to climbing while attending Oregon State, where he was a member of the climbing club. He's done a number of ascents in the Cascades of Oregon. He's relatively new to Washington state and is very eager to get out and enjoy the local peaks.
Curtis Gifford (curtis [at] hugebean [dot] com) has received quite a bit of instruction from various climbing schools. In addition to climbing many of the volcanoes (including Rainer via Liberty Rodge most recently), he's also done a fair bit of rock climbing and ice climbing locally and in other parts of the country. He's primarily interested in getting on some fun alpine climbs.
Craig Dixon (craigdixo [at] @cascadealpinis [dot] com) has been climbing for more than 3 decades. In addition to successfully summiting some long committing climbs locally, he's climbed all over the world including places like Yosemite and the Alps. He's currently pursuing the Bulger List and is always looking for people with similar goals. Just as soon as he bangs out WFR in the next couple weeks (since MOFA won't be available again until the fall) he will have acheived all of the requirements for Basic Equivalency.
