    Three Fingers Lookout needs you

Last weekend, Norm Buckley, David Jenni and I went on a reconnaissance trip to Three Fingers Lookout to assess damage to the Lookout, what needs repairing, trail condition for volunteers coming up in late Sept carrying repair tools\material etc..

The plan for repairing the Lookout, which is still being developed is this: on the last weekend of September (27th and 28th):
    • regular hikers who volunteer will haul repair material\tools to as far as Goat Flats (~5miles from TH)* or Tin Can Gap (TCG ~6 miles from TH)*.  Even if you can haul one piece of material, it'll help so much.
    • climbers\scramblers who volunteer -- will haul repair material\tools to the Three Fingers from TCG.  This because there are some sections with steep snow after TCG and will require skills on using ice axe and maybe crampons or alternatively using the moat.  From TCG on we'll need some folks who are comfortable with hiking in the backcountry on snow.
    • painters \framers\ woodworkers -- also needed to repair the Lookout

(You don't have to commit to all 3 days and don't worry about the availability number.  Contact Arthur Wright to let him know what skills you have, how you can help out and which day you can make it)

We did the same thing for Mt Pilchcuk Lookout in July:

    *  Last weekend, we could only drive to ~1.3 miles from TH due to road damage.
