Hi,

I heard a rumor that the snowshoe committee has revised its policy and only snowshoe grads will be able to go on snowshoe trips rated harder than "easy."  I thought scramble/basic grads were also allowed to go on any snowshoe trip.  Can someone please confirm this?  What's the justification for the change?

It has always been the case that you needed ice axe arrest training for snowshoe trips harder than "easy". You could get that from scramble, climb, or certain snowshoe courses (I'm not sure if snowshoe lite covers that or not). I've not heard of any change, and can't image that they would narrow the participant pool with such a requirement.
